The Car:
This exceptional build started with a 1975 Pontiac Formula, which has been meticulously transformed into a 1973 Formula by swapping the front nose—a popular modification, as many enthusiasts consider the 1973 front end to be the most attractive. The heart of this beast is a custom-built engine, based on a new short block, equipped with a BDS blower and injection setup that delivers an astounding 800HP. This car is incredibly fast and a thrill to drive!
The interior is entirely custom-made, featuring white and green vinyl seat covers, matching door panels, and a similarly styled roof and moldings. An additional RPM meter has been installed, along with a center console that houses a B&M Shifter and a line lock control knob. The interior is clean, fresh, and showcases the attention to detail in this build. While the current paint is of driver quality, we have plans to repaint the car as soon as our shop schedule allows.
The Drivetrain:
The powerhouse of this build begins with a Melleti MR1 new 455 engine block, paired with an Eagle billet crank and H-beam rods to create a robust 455 engine. ARP studs and components have been used where necessary, and the engine features Pontiac specialist Kauffman parts and Edelbrock RPM heads to ensure top performance. A Comp Cams Golden Series roller rocker setup expertly controls the valves and springs. The engine has been dyno-tested, tuned, and runs perfectly, delivering an impressive roar with immense torque and power. The transmission is a TH400 with a TransGo shift kit, finely tuned to handle the horsepower, offering quick and smooth shifts. The rear axle is a Pontiac 10-bolt with street gearing, more than capable of handling the car’s performance. The car comes with both a set of street tires and wheels, as well as a set of race tires and lightweight wheels.
